Updates

May 2026
The blossoms are open. Tiny white-yellow flowers cover the branches, and the air in the grove carries a soft, sweet fragrance that only lasts a few weeks each year. This is one of our favourite moments, brief, easy to miss, and completely wonderful. We walk slowly and breathe it in. Rain continues to visit, and the trees are thriving.

April 2026
Easter comes to the village with bells, candles, and long tables set outdoors. The olive trees are leafing out beautifully this year, and bees have returned to the blossoms. There is no better time to walk the groves than Easter week, life is absolutely everywhere.

March 2026
The light shifts. Days grow a little longer, a little warmer, and the first small buds begin to appear along the branches. The groves wake up slowly, gently. Wildflowers push through the soil between the rows, red poppies, white daisies, small purple blooms whose names we know in Greek but love all the same. Trigonas is stirring.

February 2026
Rain falls generously this month, soaking deep into the earth and feeding roots that have held this land for centuries. The air smells of wet stone and earth. We prune carefully, removing what is no longer needed so that the tree may put all its energy into what matters. Every cut is a conversation with the tree, thoughtful, deliberate, respectful.

January 2026
The new year begins quietly in Trigonas. The groves rest in the stillness of winter, the branches bare and patient. We walk the land in the low morning light, clearing debris from the last harvest, checking the soil, and listening. There is a deep peace in olive groves in January, a kind of gathering of strength. The village moves slowly, and we move with it.

December 2025
The harvest comes to a close, and the groves slowly return to silence. The trees rest after giving their gift. Olive oil is stored, winter fires are lit, and the village prepares for the festive season. We give thanks, to the land, the trees, and to you, for being part of this cycle. The olive groves breathe, ready for another year to begin.

November 2025
Harvest month. Families, friends, and neighbors gather among the trees, just as they have for generations. Olives are carefully picked, one by one, with hands that know this work by heart. Long days end with shared meals and stories. Fresh olive oil is pressed, vivid green, fragrant, and alive. This is the heart of the year.

October 2025
Autumn settles gently over Lesvos. Some olives begin to change color, from green to deep purple. Nets are laid out beneath the trees, tools are checked, and conversations in the groves grow more frequent. This is a month of preparation, patience, and respect for the rhythm of the olive tree.

September 2025
